shadcn/ui

shadcn/ui
Beautiful components you can edit freely; a popular choice for React web.
A set of UI components for React and Tailwind CSS: copy the code into your project, then customize it.
Overview
shadcn/ui is a set of pre-designed, accessibility-focused UI components that comes with a source-code distribution mechanism. The biggest difference: it is not a library you install from npm and import as usual; instead, a CLI tool copies the component source code straight into your project.
Because the code sits right in your project's components/ui folder, the dev team can edit it directly instead of overriding styles or adding wrapper layers. The components share one consistent interface, so both developers and AI models can easily read, adjust and generate more.
For small businesses, shadcn/ui helps quickly build admin pages, dashboards or landing pages with a clean interface while keeping full control of the code.
Highlights
Open code inside your project
Components are copied into your codebase; edit the files directly to change anything, with no lock-in to an external library.

The init command sets things up and the add command adds exactly the components you need, such as button or card.
Good-looking defaults
Components have carefully chosen styles, harmonious whether used alone or combined.
Designed to compose
All components share the same way of being used, making code predictable and easy to maintain.

Code Đủ Thứ
Real-world example
A cosmetics distributor in Ho Chi Minh City wants its own dealer management page instead of a spreadsheet. The company's only developer creates a Next.js project, initializes shadcn/ui, then adds card, button, form and table components. Because the code is already in the project, he sets the main color to the company logo and changes the labels to Vietnamese directly in the files, then uses an AI assistant to generate a dealer detail screen in the same style.
Tips & notes
Add only the components you need
Install exactly what you use so the components folder stays tidy and easy to maintain.
Treat the code as your own asset
Since the code lives in your project, commit and review it like any other code.
Lock in the preset early
Choose colors, fonts and icons at init so the whole team shares one interface system.
Make use of AI
A consistent API helps AI generate components more accurately; state clearly the component names you want to use.
